It helps to use resources efficiently, consider regulatory requirements early on, and secure competitive advantages. A clearly defined, practical strategy enables SMEs to efficiently implement sustainability goals and achieve measurable success.

We develop each sustainability strategy specifically tailored to our customers’ business model. We take into account the industry, company size, processes, and goals, so that the strategy is practical, implementable, and tailored to individual requirements.

A realignment or revision of the existing sustainability strategy makes sense in the event of changed regulatory requirements or market conditions. New business models, investor requirements, or internal transformation processes can also trigger a need for adjustment. In addition, we recommend regularly monitoring the achievement of targets as part of progress monitoring and regularly evaluating whether an adjustment or realignment of the strategy is necessary.

Existing sustainability initiatives are initially systematically recorded and analyzed as part of a comprehensive status quo assessment. For this purpose, we use our sustainability compass, which was specially developed for this purpose and enables a structured mapping of current sustainability performance. Based on this inventory, strategic fields of action, goals, and measures are then developed. In this way, we build on what already exists and connect strategy with previous initiatives in the company.

In addition to concrete goals and prioritized measures, the strategy also includes clear responsibilities and measurable KPIs. We also support companies in setting up accompanying monitoring structures. This ensures that implementation is consistently managed and monitored.

For the inventory using our sustainability compass, we need information on existing sustainability activities, underlying processes, and available key figures. A further focus of the assessment is on the organizational anchoring of sustainability in the company, i.e. information on governance structures is also obtained as part of the data collection.
