Only if the strategy has broad buy-in can it be implemented effectively and embedded within the company. It is also important, as part of the strategy development process, to consider the perspective and requirements of external stakeholders. <\/p><p>Crucially, the involvement of top management is essential. The strategic direction, level of ambition, and prioritization of sustainability topics are management decisions. Without clear backing from executive management, sustainability often remains an isolated specialist topic. At the same time, key departments such as strategy, purchasing, operations, finance, HR, and communications must be involved, as sustainability directly affects many functions.   <\/p><p>Another important aspect is the early involvement of those departments that will later be responsible for implementation. This ensures that goals and measures are realistic and do not fail due to operational hurdles. <\/p><p>The involvement of external stakeholders, such as customers, suppliers, or investors, is also essential. Their expectations provide important impulses for prioritizing topics and are particularly relevant in conjunction with <a href=\"\/sustainability-services\/due-dilligence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>supply chain due diligence<\/b><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/nextra-consulting.com\/en\/sustainability-services\/esg-assessments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>ESG ratings<\/b><\/a>, or <a href=\"https:\/\/nextra-consulting.com\/en\/sustainability-services\/reporting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>sustainability reporting<\/b><\/a>. <\/p><p>Through the structured involvement of relevant stakeholders, sustainability is not perceived as an additional task, but as a common strategic goal.
