Eligible applicants often include both small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and large companies, sometimes with different funding rates or requirements.<br>What matters less is the sector itself, and more the content of the project \u2014 for example, contributions to climate protection, energy and resource efficiency, sustainable transformation, innovation, or digitalisation in the context of sustainability.  <\/p><p>In addition to companies, many programs also allow local governments, public institutions, research organizations, or consortia comprising multiple stakeholders to apply for funding. It is also important for companies to note that funding often has an indirect impact: even if a company is not formally eligible to apply, it may be involved in funded projects as a project partner, supplier, or implementation partner\u2014for example, in the context of transformation, innovation, or pilot projects. <\/p><p>In practice, eligibility usually depends on several factors, including company size, location, project duration, investment volume, degree of innovation, and strategic integration.
